Anil Gurjar was born on June 24, 2004, in the small village of Berchha, nestled in the Shajapur District of Madhya Pradesh. Not long after he was born, his family moved to Umarsinghi Village, where Anil grew up watching the local seniors play kabaddi. Inspired by their skills, he took his first steps into the sport at the tender age of sixteen. In 2019, driven by his passion for kabaddi, Anil made the brave decision to move to Bhopal. He rented a small room and began training rigorously under Coach Kamal Dhethliya, who later introduced him to Coach Manoj Bali. Anil quickly honed his skills, especially his favorite move, the Dubki. He draws inspiration from the legendary Pardeep Narwal, admiring how his mastery of the Dubki influenced Anil’s own game. Anil has represented Madhya Pradesh in several prestigious competitions, including the Khelo India 2023 and Junior Nationals in 2024. Currently pursuing an undergraduate course in Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports, Anil balances his studies with his passion for kabaddi. His aspirations are clear: he dreams of playing in the Pro Kabaddi League and representing India on an international stage one day.
