M. Mathubalan

Mathubalan M was born on December 21, 2004, in Maruthappapuram, Tenkasi District, Tamil Nadu. He hails from a farming family, with his father, M Murugan, being a farmer, and his mother, Mahenthra M, managing the household. Growing up with his siblings, an elder brother named Selvakumar, an elder sister named Prema, and a younger brother named Mukesh, Mathubalan found his passion for kabaddi at the age of 13. Initially learning the game from his father, who also played locally, Mathubalan quickly developed his skills, particularly in the position of Right Cover Defender. His favorite move, the Dash, has become his signature play on the kabaddi field. Currently pursuing his B.Com degree at Karpagam University, Mathubalan continues to hone his kabaddi skills while balancing his academic commitments. Despite not having represented his school beyond the local level, Mathubalan harbors aspirations of playing at the highest levels, aiming for a spot in the Pro Kabaddi League and ultimately representing the Indian Kabaddi team. Outside of kabaddi, Mathubalan enjoys playing cricket and is an avid fan of the sport. With his dedication and determination, Mathubalan hopes to fulfill his dreams of sporting success while also aiming for a stable career, possibly in the government sector. Abhinesh Natarajan, a pro kabaddi player known for his prowess as a Right Cover Defender, serves as Mathubalan's inspiration. Admiring Natarajan's skills and style of play, Mathubalan looks to emulate his idol's success as he continues his journey in the world of kabaddi.
