S. Kabilan, born on August 11, 2003, hails from Salem, Tamil Nadu, where he currently resides. His father, Settu, works as a construction worker, and his mother, Chinnaponnu, is a house help. He has a younger brother named Naveen, who also plays kabaddi. Kabilan began his kabaddi journey at the age of 16, inspired by watching others play. His original playing position is as a Left Corner Defender, and his standout skill is the Ankle Hold. He receives coaching from Siva, a coach in Salem, and practices at the Udhaya Club in Salem. Surender Nada, a former Indian kabaddi player renowned for his skills as a left corner defender, is Kabilan's favorite player. Kabilan admires Nada's abilities and style of play. Kabilan has represented his college in inter-college matches and has earned recognition for his defensive prowess, winning the Best Defender awards in local tournaments. Besides kabaddi, he enjoys playing carrom. Currently pursuing a degree in BA History, Kabilan aspires to join the Indian Army and play for the Services team. He draws inspiration from Surender Nada and aims to serve his country while pursuing his passion for kabaddi.
