Esakkiraj Thangam

Esakkiraj T, hailing from Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, emerges as a promising Kabaddi talent representing team Durai Singam in the YKS TN Clubs 2024 tournament. Born on June 16, 2001, Esakkiraj's roots lie in a family dedicated to farming, with his father, Thangam V, tending to the land, and his mother, Velammal T, managing their household. Esakkiraj shares his passion for Kabaddi with his siblings, two elder brothers named Kumaresan and Mariselvam, and a younger brother named Manivel, all of whom are Kabaddi enthusiasts themselves. Esakkiraj's Kabaddi journey commenced at the age of 15, influenced by his brothers' involvement in the sport. Excelling as a Left Cover Defender, Esakkiraj's adeptness lies in executing precise running tackles, a skill honed under the guidance of coaches Murthy, Ponraj, and Kumaresan. His training ground at the APL Academy in Ramanathapuram serves as the arena where his talent is refined and polished. Admiring the skills of PKL player Babu, Esakkiraj finds inspiration in his favorite player's abilities. Despite not participating in other sports, Esakkiraj's admiration for Kabaddi extends to the volleyball court. Esakkiraj's career highlights include a memorable village match in 2020, where he represented the Thangapandi brothers' team, scoring a perfect 10 and leading his team to victory. As he embarks on his educational journey pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (Bsc IT), Esakkiraj harbors aspirations of securing a job in the Police force, a testament to his ambition and determination to succeed in both academics and sports.
