Gowtham Kumaravel

Gowtham K, born on November 3, 2004, comes from Vaniyambadi in Thiruppathur District, Tamil Nadu, and currently resides there as well. His father, Kumaravel S, works as a carpenter, while his mother, Vasanthi S, is employed in a shoe company. Gowtham has an elder brother named Pugzhal and an elder sister named Vasuki, neither of whom plays kabaddi. Gowtham embarked on his kabaddi journey at the age of 10, primarily assuming the role of a Right Cover Defender. His key skills lie in his ability to execute precise jumps and thigh holds, which enable him to effectively defend against raiders. Under the guidance of Coach Prathap, who himself has been part of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) camp and is an all-rounder, Gowtham trains diligently at PK Sports. Gowtham looks up to his coach, Prathap, who not only motivated him to join PK Sports but also serves as a role model due to his all-around skills and experience in the PKL camp. Gowtham has represented Thiruppathur District in various kabaddi tournaments, including the Junior State championships in 2022-2023 and 2024. Additionally, he has participated in the CM Trophy as part of the Don Bosco College team and the Modi Kabaddi Tournament as a member of the PK Sports team. Apart from kabaddi, Gowtham enjoys playing cricket and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in his second year. His aspirations include playing in the Pro Kabaddi League and securing a job in the Tamil Nadu Police Department.
