Jayakanth Jaishankar

Jayakanth, born on March 23, 2003, hails from Thirupattur, Tamil Nadu, where he currently resides in Madapalli. His mother, Saritha, supports the family as an employee at the Chennai Post Office and he has a younger sister named Jayasri. Inspired by his father, who was a kabaddi player, Jayakanth began playing kabaddi at the age of 17, assuming the position of Left Raider. Under the guidance of coach Madankumar, the District Secretary and owner of PK Sports Academy, Jayakanth trains at PK Sports. His favorite player, Santosh, is none other than his cousin brother, whose gameplay Jayakanth admires and emulates. Despite his dedication to kabaddi, Jayakanth also enjoys playing javelin and has competed at the state level in the sport. Having represented his state in various tournaments, including the Junior State in Ramanathapuram and Mayiladuthurai, as well as the South Zone Inter-University in Bangalore and the CM Trophy in 2023, Jayakanth's career highlight was scoring 10 raid points at the South Zone University in Bangalore. Having completed his graduation in BBA, Jayakanth's future aspiration is to compete in the Pro Kabaddi League, aiming to make a mark in the professional arena. Despite challenges, such as his mother being the sole earner and living alone in Chennai due to her job, Jayakanth remains determined to pursue his dreams in kabaddi.
