Kabilan, born on March 14, 2000, in Thammampatti, Salem, Tamil Nadu, is deeply rooted in his hometown, where he currently resides. His parents, Karnan and Chellam, both work as laborers, instilling in him the values of hard work and perseverance. Kabilan has two siblings, a younger sister named Kavi Bala, and a younger brother named Maya Kannan, with whom he shares a love for kabaddi. While Kavi Bala supports her brothers from the sidelines, Maya Kannan actively participates in the sport alongside Kabilan. Discovering his passion for kabaddi at the age of 15, Kabilan quickly found his niche as a Right Corner Defender, excelling in the art of the dash. Under the guidance of Coach Sharath, a former SAI Salem player, Kabilan hones his skills at the KR Sports Academy. He draws inspiration from his favorite player, Prathap, a member of the Tamil Nadu police team known for his prowess in the same position. Despite his modest beginnings, Kabilan has made notable achievements in his kabaddi journey. Representing Thammampatti Government School, he competed in the 2017 School State Championship. In local tournaments, his stellar defensive performances have earned him recognition, including the Best Defender award at a tournament in Attur. Despite his shy demeanor, Kabilan's talent on the kabaddi mat speaks volumes. Apart from kabaddi, Kabilan is dedicated to his education, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education (BPED). His ultimate aspiration is to become a Physical Education Teacher (PT Teacher), a profession that aligns with his passion for sports and fitness.
