Praveen Kumar was born on June 10, 2001, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, where he currently resides. His father, Anbalagan, works as an auto driver, and his mother, Megala, is a homemaker. He has a younger brother named Ritesh Kumar, who also plays kabaddi and has represented in Junior State tournaments. Praveen began his kabaddi journey at the age of 11 and specializes as a Right Cover Defender. His signature moves include advanced tackles and powerful dashes. He receives coaching from Sakthi, and he practices near his home. Sunil Kumar is Praveen's favorite kabaddi player, admired for his performance as a Right Cover Defender, his impactful dashes, and his dedication to the team's success. In addition to kabaddi, Praveen is pursuing a Master's degree in M.Com, first year. He has represented in Senior State tournaments and South Zone Inter University competitions. His career highlight includes winning the bronze medal in the Junior State tournament.
