Sham Murugan

In the YKS TN Clubs 2024 tournament, representing Team Chennai Sports, we have Sham. He was born on February 17, 2004, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and currently resides there. Sham's father, Murugan, works as an electrician, while his mother, Ponni, is a homemaker. He has one elder sister named Joice, who does not play kabaddi. Sham began playing kabaddi in his 5th standard, inspired by the people around him. He specializes as a Left Cover Defender, with his best skill being the Dash. His coach is Akash, who is his cousin brother, and Gangadharan, his college coach. They train at the TFT Club in Chennai. Although he doesn't have a personal favorite skill, Sham admires the Double Thigh Hold, and his favorite player is Ajay Thakur, known for his excellent skills and playing for Tamil Thalaivas. Sham has represented his team in various competitions, including the 2023 South Zone Inter-University Games and State Meets at the Junior, Sub-Junior, and Senior levels. One of his career highlights includes being part of the Kanchipuram District team in the 2022-2023 State Meet, where his team won after 30 years. Apart from kabaddi, Sham also plays cricket. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and aspires to become a police officer, with the hope of getting posted through kabaddi.
