Mamuji, born on April 26, 2003, hails from Arasankulam, Thoothukkudi, Tamil Nadu, where he currently resides. Born into a family of farmers, his father Balakrishnan and mother Rajalakshmi, instilled in him the values of hard work and perseverance. Mamuji has two younger brothers, Ponmathiji and Munish Balaji, who look up to him as their role model. His journey in kabaddi commenced at the age of 13, driven by a deep passion for the sport that resonated throughout his village. Inspired by the spirited games played by the locals, Mamuji found his calling as a Right Corner Defender, excelling in the art of chain holds, a skill that sets him apart on the kabaddi mat. Under the tutelage of coach Mathiazhakan at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Chennai, Mamuji honed his talents over the past three years, refining his techniques and strategies. His admiration for active defender Abinesh Natrajan fuels his ambition, as he aspires to emulate Natrajan's prowess and agility. Mamuji's achievements include representing his team at the 48th Junior Nationals in Uttarakhand, where they clinched the third position, marking a significant milestone in his kabaddi journey. Although he awaits his breakthrough moment, Mamuji remains steadfast in his pursuit of excellence. Apart from kabaddi, Mamuji harbors a fondness for football and cricket, showcasing his versatility in the realm of sports. Having completed his Bachelor of Arts in History, Mamuji's aspirations extend beyond the kabaddi arena. He dreams of donning the national colors and securing a job in either the Customs or Income Tax department, envisioning a future marked by success and fulfillment. With unwavering determination and a burning passion for the game, Mamuji is poised to scale greater heights and leave an indelible mark on the kabaddi landscape.
