Muthuvel Pandian, born on December 23, 1999, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, currently works as a police constable in Coimbatore. His father, P Kathirvel, who was his first coach, is no longer alive, and his mother, Lakshmi, is a homemaker. Muthuvel has two elder sisters, Kaleshwari and Gangeshwari, and one younger brother, Muthueshwara Pandian, who also plays kabaddi. Muthuvel began playing kabaddi at the age of 17, inspired by watching others play. He was initially enrolled in the BJ Brothers club. His original playing position is right raider, and his best skill is the running hand touch. He practices with the Tamil Nadu Police team. Muthuvel admires Ajay Thakur, a former Indian kabaddi captain and Arjuna Awardee, for his exceptional skills. He has represented Tamil Nadu in the Senior Nationals in 2024 and secured a bronze medal for SRM University in the All India University championship in 2023. Apart from kabaddi, Muthuvel enjoys playing cricket. He aspires to play for the Indian Kabaddi Team in the future and supports his family, including his single mother, after his father's passing. His father, who was also a kabaddi player in the past, played a significant role as his first coach in grooming him into the player he is today.
