Ajay Gurav, born on February 24, 2004, in Parel, Mumbai, Maharashtra, exhibits remarkable talent in the arena of kabaddi. Raised in a supportive environment with his father, Anil Gurav, a dedicated Medical Supplier, and his mother, Anita Gurav, a devoted homemaker, Ajay's journey in kabaddi commenced during his school days in the 7th standard. His early exposure to the sport kindled a passion that led him to join a local club, where his skills flourished under the guidance of coach Vishal Redijv at Shivneri Seva Mandal, Dadar. Specializing as a Right Cover Defender, Ajay showcases exceptional expertise in the art of the Double Thigh Hold maneuver, a skill he honed through dedicated practice and perseverance. Inspired by the prowess of Sanket Savan from the Puneri Paltan in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Ajay admires Savan's skills, with whom he often practices and shares a camaraderie. While kabaddi remains his primary focus, Ajay also enjoys playing cricket as an alternate sporting pursuit. Despite limited representations at higher levels, Ajay has already made his mark in kabaddi tournaments, including representing Mumbai Shahar in the Junior State Championship of 2022. In his academic pursuits, Ajay is currently pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (BAF), demonstrating a balanced approach to sports and education. With aspirations of donning the jersey of a Pro Kabaddi League team, Ajay remains focused on his goal, driven by a relentless passion for the sport and a desire to leave a lasting impact in the realm of professional kabaddi.
