BIO

Akash Navnath Rathod, born on May 12, 2004, hails from Raniunchi goan in Jalna, Maharashtra, where he currently resides. His parents, Navnath Sakharam Rathod and Kavita Navnath Rathod, are hardworking farmers. Akash has two younger brothers, Shankar and Omprakash, both of whom share his passion for kabaddi. Akash's journey in kabaddi commenced at the age of 12, and he swiftly established himself as a versatile All Rounder, adept in both the Right Raider and Left Corner positions. His exceptional ability to execute precise jumps sets him apart on the kabaddi mat. Under the guidance of coach Amol Rathod, Akash hones his skills at the MH21 Garuda practice grounds. Inspired by the prowess of Indian kabaddi player Pankaj Mohite, Akash admires Mohite's remarkable skill and agility, especially his impressive jumps during raids. Despite his young age, Akash has already made notable achievements, including securing first place in the District tournament in 2016 while representing Jalna. In addition to kabaddi, Akash is pursuing a degree in B.Com (2nd year) as part of his college education. His career highlights include reaching the finals of a local match in 2024 while playing for MH21 Garuda. Unfortunately, the match took an emotional turn as his team's left corner player got injured, leading to their withdrawal despite holding a significant lead against their opponents, Pofal Shivani. Looking ahead, Akash aspires to play in the prestigious Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), aiming to showcase his talent on a national platform and contribute to the growth of kabaddi in India.
