Prakash Chavan

Prakash Chavan, born on May 31, 2004, in Ambad, Jalna, Maharashtra, currently resides in the same locality. His father, Santosh Chavan, and mother, Ahilyabai Chavan, are both involved in farming. Prakash has an elder brother named Vikas, who used to play kabaddi but later got married. Prakash's journey in kabaddi began at the age of 14, initially playing as an All Rounder with expertise in the Left Corner and Left Raider positions. His exceptional skill in executing the "Toe Touch" maneuver sets him apart on the kabaddi mat. Under the guidance of coach Prashant Vaidya during his initial days and currently under Manik Rathod, Prakash hones his abilities at the Matsyodari Vidyalaya Ground in Ambad and the Marathwada Sanskrutik Mandal Ground at SAI Seva Academy in Sambhaji Nagar. Aslam Inamdar serves as Prakash's favorite player, whose gameplay inspired him to take up kabaddi. Prakash's dedication to the sport has seen him represent his district with distinction, securing third position in the Under-19 State championships in Thane and Parbani in 2022-23. Notably, his super raid in the dying moments of the Under-19 State championship in Thane proved instrumental in his team's victory. Apart from kabaddi, Prakash also enjoys playing Kho Kho and actively participates in other sports. Currently pursuing his second year of BA, Prakash aims to continue his journey in kabaddi and secure a job through his sporting prowess.
