Shubham Chavan

Shubham Chavan, born on June 5, 2002, originates from Daha, Jalna, Maharashtra, where he currently resides as well. His father, Santosh Baba Chavan, is a farmer, and his mother, Meera Chavan, manages the household. Shubham has a younger sister named Rani, though neither of them partakes in kabaddi. Shubham embarked on his kabaddi journey at the age of 16-17, inspired by the spirited matches played by the children in his village. His family wholeheartedly supports his passion for the sport. Excelling primarily as a Left-Right Raider, Shubham's standout skill is his exceptional jumping ability, which he employs to outmaneuver opponents during raids. Under the guidance of his coach, Punjab Rao Wagh, Shubham trains diligently on the village ground in Daha, honing his skills and striving for improvement. He admires Akash Shinde of the Puneri Paltan for his adept raiding and bonus techniques, as well as his composed demeanor on the mat. Despite his limited formal education up to the 10th standard, Shubham's dedication to kabaddi remains unwavering. His career highlight includes a memorable match against Nandurbar in Pune in 2019, where unfortunately, he sustained a leg injury. Nonetheless, Shubham aspires to continue playing kabaddi and secure a job in the future.
