Ashitosh Subhash Waghmare, born on November 24, 2004, originated from Renapur, Latur, Maharashtra, currently residing in Wagholi, Dharashiv. Coming from a family with a farming background, Ashitosh discovered his love for kabaddi at the age of 14 while playing with friends during school breaks. It was during these playful moments that his talent caught the eye of Sir Raut, who recognized his potential and provided him with guidance and training in the sport. With a natural inclination towards defense, Ashitosh excels in the role of Right Corner Defender, known for his impeccable ankle holds. Under the mentorship of coaches Amarnath Raut and Amol Mate at the Shiv Parvati Krida Pratishthan in Wagholi, he continues to refine his skills and technique. Inspired by the agility and prowess of his favorite player, Aslam Inamdar, Ashitosh aspires to emulate his skills and speed on the kabaddi mat. Despite not having siblings involved in kabaddi, Ashitosh has made significant strides in the sport, representing his district and state in competitions since 2022. Apart from kabaddi, he also enjoys playing Kho-Kho and is currently pursuing his B.Com degree as a first-year student. One of his career highlights includes a memorable victory during a school match in the 9th standard, where he emerged victorious against 10th standard opponents in a thrilling encounter in 2019. Looking ahead, Ashitosh harbors ambitions of making a name for himself in the kabaddi arena and aims to become financially stable to support his family, illustrating his dedication not only to the sport but also to his loved ones' well-being.
