Shashikant Barkand

Sashikant Barkand, born on December 18, 2004, in Nashik, Maharashtra, currently resides in Madsanvi, Nashik. He hails from a family with a farming background, where his father Sanjay Barkand and mother Savita instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication. Sashikant has two siblings, an elder sister Geetanjali, and an elder brother Sunil, none of whom play kabaddi. Sashikant's journey in kabaddi began at the age of 16 when he was inspired by a senior player named Sanimati from his village. He started playing kabaddi and soon discovered his passion for the sport. Excelling as an all-rounder, Sashikant is proficient in playing as a right raider and right corner, showcasing his versatility on the mat. Under the guidance of coach Santosh Mate at Shivsakthi Kreeda mandal, Sashikant refines his skills and hones his gameplay. His favorite player is Aslam Inamdar, an Indian kabaddi player, whom he admires for his speed and bonus skill. Sashikant has participated in Junior State Championships, representing his talent and dedication to the sport. His favorite skill in kabaddi is the bonus, which he executes with finesse during his raids. Apart from kabaddi, Sashikant also enjoys playing football and is passionate about sports in general. One of Sashikant's career highlights includes being awarded the Best Raider in local tournaments, a testament to his skill and performance on the kabaddi field. His future aspiration is to represent the Indian Kabaddi Team, showcasing his ambition to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
