Born on September 25, 2003, in Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, Shripad Kumbhar is a promising Kabaddi player representing Ratnagiri District in the KMP YKS 2024 tournament. His father, Dipak Kumbhar, is a farmer, while his mother, Dipali Kumbhar, takes care of their home. Shripad has two elder brothers, Omkar and Sairaj, both of whom are also Kabaddi enthusiasts. Shripad's journey in Kabaddi began at the age of 15, inspired by his elder brothers who played the sport. He excels as a Right Corner Defender, specializing in the ankle hold technique. Under the guidance of Jagdish Shinde, his village coach, Shripad hones his skills at the Mahindra & Mahindra Company Ground. Shripad's favorite player is Shubham Shinde, who also hails from the same club. He admires Shubham's expertise in the ankle hold technique. Representing Ratnagiri District, Shripad has participated in prestigious events such as the Junior National in 2023 and the State Championships in 2022. One of Shripad's career highlights includes a remarkable performance in the State Championship in Pune 2022, where he secured victory for his team with seven successful ankle holds against Pune. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree, Shripad aspires to play for the Railway team in the future, showcasing his talent at a national level.
