Born on November 20, 1997, Sumitra's journey into the world of kabaddi commenced at the age of 19. Fuelled by a passion for the sport and the desire to make a mark, Sumitra embraced her role as a Right Raider, showcasing a penchant for the electrifying Running Hand Touch—a skill that demands precision and agility. Sumitra's roots lie in a supportive family where her father, Hanuman Sahaya, plies his trade as a skilled mechanic, and her mother, Geeta Devi, nurtures the warmth of their home as a dedicated homemaker. Together with her two elder sisters, a younger brother, and a younger sister, the Choudhary family forms a solid support system for Sumitra's kabaddi pursuits. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Dinesh Choudhari, Sumitra hones her skills at the iconic Chaughan Stadium in Jaipur. Dr. Dinesh Choudhari's mentorship plays a crucial role in shaping Sumitra's strategic approach to the game. With a keen interest in Kho Kho as an alternate sporting delight, Sumitra excels not only in kabaddi but also in her studies. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed), Sumitra's academic pursuits run parallel to her kabaddi ambitions. Sumitra's kabaddi journey has seen noteworthy representations at the college, district, state, and national levels. A standout moment was clinching bronze at the Senior Nationals in 2022, marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning career.
