Born on November 16, 1998, in the vibrant city of Kalakh, Jaipur, Rajasthan, Gyanu Takar has etched her name as a prominent Left Corner Defender in the realm of kabaddi. Hailing from the culturally rich state of Rajasthan, Gyanu continues to weave her kabaddi prowess as a proud member of the Aravalli Arrows in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024. Gyanu's kabaddi journey commenced at the age of 17, under the guidance of esteemed coaches Dr. Dinesh Chaudhari and Shalini Pathak. Her original playing position as a Left Corner Defender showcases her tenacity in guarding the team's defensive lines, with the Ankle Hold emerging as her signature move. The daughter of Madanlal Takar, a farmer, and Manni Devi, a homemaker, Gyanu hails from a close-knit family that includes one younger sister and two younger brothers. While kabaddi may not be a family tradition, Gyanu has carved her path in the sport with determination and skill. Gyanu's practice ground is the renowned Chaughan Stadium in Jaipur, where she refines her skills and contributes to the team's defensive strategies. Her favorite player, Manoj, serves as a local inspiration from Jaipur, reflecting her admiration for skilled gameplay. With representations spanning across school, college, district, state, and national levels, Gyanu's illustrious career includes a significant milestone – winning the gold for Rajasthan in the Senior Nationals of 2021, marking a historic achievement for the state. Pursuing a Masters's degree in History, she strikes a balance between academics and her passion for kabaddi.
