Divya Jyoti, born on November 7, 1996, hails from Harlog, Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, and currently resides in Bilaspur. She is the daughter of Gianchand, who works in a private job in Shimla in the pharma industry, and Suman Sharma, who is a homemaker and looks after the academy. Divya has a younger brother named Gaurav Sharma, and none of her siblings are involved in playing kabaddi. Divya embarked on her kabaddi journey at the age of 15, inspired and motivated by her school and seniors. Her original playing position is at the Right Cover Defender position, where she excels in executing the Ankle Hold, showcasing her defensive prowess. Under the guidance of her coach, Sandeep Sharma, Divya refines her skills at the Krishna Kabaddi Academy in Bilaspur. A fan of the renowned kabaddi players Pushpa Rana and Ajay Thakur, Divya admires their strong playing style, kind nature, and amazing skills. Her favorite skill in kabaddi is the Handtouch, emphasizing her appreciation for offensive strategies. Apart from kabaddi, Divya's favorite sport is Badminton. Academically, she holds a master's degree and pursued subjects such as Arts in the 12th grade, followed by a BA in Geography, and is currently pursuing MA in Yoga Studies. Divya has represented her school and state in various kabaddi competitions. One of her career highlights includes a school match against the opponent Bhager, where she played for Government Senior Secondary School Panoh and emerged victorious. Looking ahead, her future aspiration is to qualify for the National Eligibility Test (NET) and become a teacher.
