Kavita, born on August 6, 1995, in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, and currently residing in Kasoli, has carved her niche in the realm of kabaddi. Raised in a family with a deep-rooted connection to the sport, her father, Suresh Kumar, runs a business, and her mother, Anita Devi, is a homemaker. Kavita's journey into kabaddi began at the tender age of 8, inspired by her elder sister Archana's remarkable achievements and medal-winning performances in the sport. A proficient Right Raider, Kavita has honed her skills over the years, specializing in the Jack and Handtouch techniques. Her early coaching was under the guidance of Rajesh Kumar during her formative years (1st to 5th class), followed by Mohanlal Sir (6th to 8th class), Sanjiv Thakur (10th to 12th), and Ravindar (till graduation). She regularly practices at the Sports Club in Dolka Jubber, Solan. Kavita's favorite player is none other than her sister, Jyoti Thakur, whom she admires for being a "dhakkad" (ferocious) player, particularly appreciating her exemplary Handtouch skills that took her to international arenas. Kavita's sporting achievements include representations at the school, district, state, and national levels. A notable highlight is breaking a 10-year record at the state level, securing a gold medal in a thrilling final match against Nalagarh. Beyond kabaddi, Kavita also engages in volleyball and is pursuing her college graduation in BA. Looking ahead, her aspirations include securing a job as a forest guard in Kasoli and aiming for career advancements and promotions in her chosen field.
