Remarkably, Rakhi, her younger sister, also plays kabaddi at the national level, showcasing their family's deep-rooted connection with the sport. Sonali's kabaddi journey began in 2018. Originally interested in wrestling, her father took her to an academy for wrestling, where her coach, Sarita from Bahadurgarh, Delhi, offered to teach her both wrestling and kabaddi. Despite starting with little knowledge of kabaddi, Sonali quickly learned the game under Sarita's guidance. Her preferred playing position is at Left Raider, and she excels in executing the Bonus move. Sarita, her coach, has been instrumental in shaping her skills, guiding her from the beginning to the present. Sonali draws inspiration from several kabaddi players, including Rohit Akki (former Indian Kabaddi player), Ankit Jaglan (Patna Pirates), Naveen Kumar, Pawan Sehrawat, Ashu Malik, Sachin Tawar, and Ajay Thakur. She admires their playing style, technique, and dedication to the game. Apart from kabaddi, Sonali has also played wrestling at the inter-college level. Academically, she is pursuing a college graduation degree in the Arts stream (BA). Sonali's kabaddi career highlights include participating in the Sub Junior National, where she played against Karnataka, representing Delhi as the captain. In a crucial semi-final match, she led her team to victory with a Golden Raid, securing the runner-up position. Looking ahead, Sonali aspires to secure a job and continue playing kabaddi, with the ultimate goal of representing India on the international stage. Her dedication and passion for the sport are evident in her journey so far.
