Gajenthiramoorthi M., hailing from the picturesque town of Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu, embarked on his kabaddi journey at a tender age of ten. Surrounded by the rich culture of the sport, he often watched his relatives play in the village, which ignited a deep passion within him. Growing up in a farming family with his father, Murugesan, and mother, Selvabharathi, Gajenthiramoorthi found unwavering support from his family, especially his elder sister, Karthiga, who has always been his biggest cheerleader. An all-rounder on the kabaddi mat, he has truly made a mark in both the Right Corner Defender and Left Raider positions. His favorite skill, the Bonus, has become a signature move under the watchful eye of his coach, Thangavel Raj, at Karpagam University in Coimbatore. While he balances his pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with athletics, he has also played in state competitions, showcasing his talent and determination. Though he dreams of playing at higher levels, right now, his focus is on his studies and striving toward a stable future in a central government job. Inspired by the incredible Pardeep Narwal, he continues to train hard and remains deeply committed to his beloved sport of kabaddi. In his downtime, you'll also catch him enjoying a game of volleyball, but kabaddi will always be his first love.
