His father, Rajan, works as a daily wage worker, while his mother, Maheshwari, manages their household duties. He has an elder brother named Satheesh, who used to play Kabaddi during school but no longer participates in the sport. Sanjay's Kabaddi journey began at the age of 7, although he didn't receive extensive training initially. Over time, he invested in the sport in phases, gradually honing his skills. He specializes as a Right Corner Defender, excelling in techniques like the Chain Tackle. Under the guidance of coaches Stanley from Alagapapuram Club and Subash, who provided unwavering support and training, Sanjay has developed his Kabaddi prowess. He practices at Ringle Higher Secondary School in the village, honing his skills and refining his gameplay. Sanjay admires Mohit Chillar and Surendra Nada for their exceptional combination and chain tackle skills, which serve as inspiration for his own gameplay. Having represented in various tournaments including the South Zone University in Bangalore in 2022 and securing the first position in the Senior State tournament in Sengalpettu in 2023, Sanjay's career highlight was playing for Customs in September 2023, which provided him recognition and valuable opportunities. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Sanjay aspires to excel in Kabaddi to take care of his parents and secure opportunities to play for teams that recognize his talent. He expresses disappointment at being sidelined due to politics, especially during events like the Madurai Edition.
