Meet Akash Rangappa Kamal, a spirited young kabaddi player hailing from Vasco Da Gama, Goa. Born on November 30, 2005, Akash has been surrounded by the sport since he was just ten years old. Growing up in a close-knit family, with his father Rangappa working as a laborer and his mother Kavita managing the household, Akash’s journey into kabaddi started with the games he would watch and join in with friends from the neighborhood. Training under the watchful eye of his father, Akash honed his skills at the Panjim Sports Club, where he became known for his agility as a Right Corner Defender. He has a knack for executing the backhold skill, which he passionately considers his best. Akash looks up to the Iranian kabaddi star, Mohammad Reza Shadloui, admiring his ability to shine on the field single-handedly. Despite juggling his time between playing kabaddi and working at a family-owned shop, he recently achieved a significant milestone by participating in the Yuva Kabaddi Series in Madurai. This experience ignited his dream of playing in the Pro Kabaddi League. With two younger sisters cheering him on, Akash is driven and determined to make his mark in the world of kabaddi and inspire others along the way.
