Marimuthu Selvam

S. Marimuthu, born on February 8, 2003, originates from Poolangudi, Tamil Nadu, where he currently resides. His father, Selvam, works in construction, while his mother, Ayyamaal, manages their household. He has two elder sisters, Krishnaveni and Vijayalakshmi, neither of whom are involved in kabaddi. Marimuthu began his kabaddi journey at the age of 15, primarily playing as a Right Raider. His preferred skill is the Kick. Under the guidance of Coach Anandthakrishnan, he hones his skills at the Kattakudi Sports Club in Thiruvarur. He admires Ajay Thakur for his stylishness and particularly appreciates his hand touches. Marimuthu has participated in various tournaments, including the Junior Nationals in 2023, Khelo India Youth Games in Panchkula in 2023, Federation Cup in 2023, and All India University Games in 2021. Although kabaddi is his primary focus, Marimuthu also enjoys High Jump as another sport. Currently pursuing his graduation in B.Sc. Physical Education (2nd year), he aspires to secure a government job through the sports quota.
