Meet Sujit Sonkar, a promising young kabaddi player from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, born on March 21, 2006. Sujit’s journey is one of grit and passion, deeply influenced by the love of his family. Though he now calls Bhilai, Chhattisgarh home, the essence of his roots remains strong, nurtured by his parents, Dharmendra and Savitri, and his four elder siblings. The loss of one brother has fueled his determination, inspiring him to chase his dreams relentlessly. Initially, Sujit found himself captivated by cricket, but everything changed at the age of 16 when he stumbled upon the Pro Kabaddi League. That's when he discovered his true calling in kabaddi. As a Left Raider, he dazzles with his skills, especially his favorite move, the back kick. Training at Arjun Kridamandal under the mentorship of his late coach Rahul and seasoned players has polished his talent, while his admiration for Pardeep Narwal’s signature Dubki move motivates him to learn and grow. One of his proudest moments came when he clinched a bronze medal at the Sub Junior Nationals in 2019. With his sights set on the Pro Kabaddi League, Sujit is determined to make his mark on the sport he loves, turning dreams into reality.
