Omkar Patil

Omkar Narayan Patil, born on January 26, 2004, in Belgaum, Maharashtra, is a prominent kabaddi player representing the Kolhapur team in the KMP YKS 2024 tournament. Currently, he is located at the Kabaddi Rao Academy in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, where he is undergoing training to participate in the Senior Nationals for India. Coming from a family with a farming background, Omkar's father, Narayan Patil, and mother, Suman, support his kabaddi journey. He has a younger brother named Kunal, who does not play kabaddi. Omkar's interest in kabaddi sparked at the age of 12, inspired by the vibrant kabaddi culture in his village where everyone actively participated in the sport. Omkar specializes as a Right Raider, known for his exceptional Hand Touch technique on the kabaddi mat. Under the guidance of coach Ramesh Bhendigiri, he trains rigorously at the Kabaddi Rao Academy in Kolhapur. His favorite kabaddi player is Ajay Thakur, whose hand touch technique he admires and has been following since childhood. Throughout his career, Omkar has achieved significant milestones, including playing in Season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) for the Telugu Titans as a New Young Player (NYP). He has also secured victories in various tournaments such as the Junior State Championship in 2022 at Balewadi, Pune, and the Under-19 School State Championship in Sangli in 2023. One of the highlights of Omkar's career is his selection in the PKL Season 10, which marks a significant achievement in his kabaddi journey. His ultimate aspiration is to represent Team India in kabaddi, which he considers his primary goal and the pinnacle of his career. Alongside kabaddi, Omkar also enjoys playing football as another sport of interest. Currently pursuing his first year of BA in college, Omkar remains focused on his kabaddi career and strives to achieve greater heights in the sport.
