Sunny Koli, born on March 23, 2005, in Worli, Mumbai, is a rising star in the kabaddi arena, representing Mumbai Shahar with pride and determination. Hailing from a humble background, with his father Kishor Pandurnag Koli working as a fisherman and his mother Heera managing the household, Sunny's journey in kabaddi began at a young age of 5 when he first stepped onto the kabaddi mat in school. As an All-Rounder, Sunny possesses a versatile skill set, excelling as both a Right Raider and a Right Corner Defender. His agility and precision in executing the Jump and Dubki maneuvers make him a formidable force on the kabaddi court. Under the guidance of dedicated coaches including Vishnu Halmalkar, Dinesh Patil, Rajesh Patil, Siddhesh Pingale, and Akshay Bidu at the Golphadevi Seva Mandal in Worli, Sunny continues to refine his technique and strategy. Despite juggling his passion for kabaddi with his family's fishing livelihood, Sunny has achieved notable success in the sport, representing Maharashtra at the Nationals in 2023 and leading Mumbai Shehar as the Captain to victory in the Junior State tournaments in 2023 and 2024. A true admirer of Aslam Inamdar, Sunny draws inspiration from Inamdar's raiding prowess and bonus-point tactics. Beyond the kabaddi arena, Sunny's educational journey has been up to the 12th standard, with aspirations to secure a good job in the future. His career highlight includes the memorable victory in the 2024 Mumbai Shahar Junior State final match against Jai Bharat, marking his first captaincy triumph and laying the foundation for his future ambitions in the sport.
