Shreyas Sachin Umbardand, born on January 28, 2003, in Baramati, Pune, hails from Maharashtra and currently resides in the same city. His father, Sachin Umbardand, manages a shopping mart, while his mother, Swati Umbardand, takes care of their home. Shreyas has a younger sister who is pursuing a career in Chartered Accountancy. Although not initially drawn to kabaddi, Shreyas discovered his passion for the sport at the age of 16. His journey as a kabaddi player began under the mentorship of Coach Dadaso Awad, refining his skills at the Baramati Sports Academy. Excelling in the role of a Right Cover Defender, Shreyas is known for his impeccable front blocks, thwarting opponents' advances with precision and finesse. Inspired by kabaddi stalwarts Nilesh Salunke and Aslam Inamdar, Shreyas admires Salunke's skill set and mindset on the mat, while Inamdar's current form serves as a source of motivation. His dedication and talent have earned him notable achievements, including securing a gold medal in the U17 School Games and representing Bengal Warriors in PKL10 as a non-playing member. Beyond kabaddi, Shreyas finds enjoyment in cricket and is currently pursuing his third year of Bachelor of Arts at TC College, Baramati. With a contract with Union Bank to play kabaddi, Shreyas aspires to make a mark in the Pro Kabaddi League, aiming to become the league's best defender and eventually represent the nation on the international stage. His relentless pursuit of excellence fuels his ambition to leave a lasting impact in the world of kabaddi.
