Naresh Kumar, a spirited young talent born on March 23, 2003, in Solan, Nalagarh, is making waves in the kabaddi world. Growing up in the beautiful hills of Himachal Pradesh, he was inspired by his father, Sri Geeta Ram, a devoted farmer, and his nurturing mother, Rani Devi. With an elder brother by his side, Naresh found his passion for kabaddi at the tender age of 16 when his father encouraged him to partake in his first tournament. Currently residing in Katirru Majra, he has trained under the guidance of Sri Sanjeev Thakur for three years at the Khelo India Centre in Rajpura. As a Left Corner Defender, Naresh has honed his skills, particularly excelling in the dive and thigh hold — techniques that showcase his agility and strength on the mat. His aspirations are sky-high, with dreams of playing at the Senior Nationals and in the Pro Kabaddi League, as well as proudly representing India on an international stage. Naresh sees Ajay Thakur, a celebrated Himachali player, as his role model, hoping to follow in his footsteps. Currently an undergraduate in Pharmacy, he’s striking a balance between studies and his passion for kabaddi, all while looking forward to what the future holds.
