Rahul Kumar, born on June 15, 2002, in the beautiful town of Alwar, Rajasthan, has always been a dreamer. Growing up in a farming family, with his father, Dharamveer Singh, working hard in the fields and his mother, Kamlesh Devi, taking care of the household, Rahul learned the essence of dedication early on. He shares a special bond with his younger brother, Rohit, who may not be a kabaddi enthusiast, but is his biggest supporter in this journey. Rahul's journey into the world of kabaddi began at the age of 18 when he watched a match on television. He was instantly inspired by the incredible skills of his favorite players, Jaideep Dahiya and Manjeet Chillar. Eager to follow in their footsteps, he enrolled at the RK Kabaddi Academy in Alwar. Under the guidance of coach Ravinder Kumar, he honed his skills as a Left Cover Defender, developing a particular strength in the Thigh Hold technique, which he takes great pride in. While Rahul has competed in both junior and senior state competitions from 2019 to 2024, securing medals has been elusive so far. But rather than discouraging him, each experience pumps up his determination to reach the Pro Kabaddi League. As he juggles training with his Bachelor of Arts studies, Rahul envisions a future where he lights up the kabaddi stage, fulfilling his dreams while staying rooted in his values of hard work and perseverance.
