Suji Sankar

Born on December 21, 2003, in the vibrant city of Salem, Tamil Nadu, Suji is the dynamic left raider for the Palani Tuskers in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024. Hailing from a close-knit family, Suji's journey in the world of kabaddi is fueled by her passion, familial support, and an unyielding spirit. Suji's father, Sankar, earns his livelihood as an electrician, while her mother, Dhanam, is the heart of their home as a dedicated homemaker. Suji shares her dreams and aspirations with her younger brother, Mukesh, who, like her, is drawn to the captivating sport of kabaddi. The journey of Suji in kabaddi began at the age of 15, where the dusty grounds of SKC in Ayodhiyapattanam became her training arena. Under the guidance of her coach, Senthil Kumar, Suji honed her skills, with a particular penchant for the art of the bonus. Her nimble footwork and strategic bonus moves make her a formidable left raider, leaving opponents in awe. Suji's favorite player, Naveen Kumar, serves as a source of inspiration due to his lightning-fast speed on the kabaddi mat. Representing at various levels, including school, college, district, state, and nationals, Suji's career highlights include a memorable match in the Inter University South Zone against Mysore University. Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science (BSc), Suji aspires to compete in All India Tournaments, further establishing her mark in the kabaddi arena.
