Meet Bhavna Devi, a talented kabaddi player representing the Himalayan Tahrs in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024. Born on 16th January 1999 in Baila, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Bhavna continues to reside in her hometown. Hailing from an agricultural background, her father, Prem Singh, works as a farmer, while her mother, Dassi, manages the household. Bhavna is part of a close-knit family with an elder brother and three elder sisters. Although her siblings do not play kabaddi, they provide valuable support to Bhavna in pursuing her passion. Bhavna's kabaddi journey began at the age of 14, and she excels as a Right Cover Defender. Known for her formidable blocking skills, Bhavna has been under the guidance of coaches Dayaram Chaudharyi, Satvir Kaur, and Pankaj Sharma, honing her skills at the SAI Hostel in Dharamshala. Her favorite kabaddi player is Pooja Thakur, whom she admires for her sincerity and skill on the kabaddi mat. Currently pursuing her Masters Degree in History, Bhavna has actively represented her School, College, District, and State in kabaddi. One of her significant achievements includes participating in the National Games held in Goa in 2023, where her team secured a commendable first position. Bhavna's favorite kabaddi skill is the Bonus, showcasing her versatility on the kabaddi mat. Apart from kabaddi, she also engages in playing volleyball. With a strong educational background, Bhavna is pursuing her Masters Degree and balancing her academic and kabaddi commitments. Looking towards the future, Bhavna aspires to play for Team India and aims to participate in the Asian Games, with a dream of winning the gold medal for the country. With her exceptional blocking abilities and dedication to the sport, Bhavna stands as a promising player with the potential for greater achievements in her kabaddi career.
