Pankaj Sharma

Meet Pankaj Sharma, a passionate kabaddi player from Karanpur, Haridwar, who started his journey in this dynamic sport at the age of 17. His love for kabaddi ignited when he watched his friends shine in local tournaments. Since then, he has dedicated himself to mastering the art of defending, now playing as a Right Corner Defender with exceptional skills in Back Hold and Thigh Hold. Growing up in a close-knit family, Pankaj is the youngest of six siblings, with two elder brothers and two elder sisters. His father, Radheshyam Sharma, is a farmer, while his mother, Amrita Sharma, is a homemaker. The values instilled in him by his family motivate him every day to strive for greatness. Currently, he balances his studies as an undergraduate student in Physical Education with his training at the UK Academy, guided by his coach, Ravi. Pankaj has already made his mark in various competitions, including the Junior National Championship and the Khelo India events. He dreams of representing India someday and aims to get selected in the Indian Army. Inspired by the defensive prowess of Pro Kabaddi players like Ravindra Pahal and Nitesh Kumar, he continues to hone his craft while cherishing his journey in kabaddi and beyond.
