Born on May 12, 2002, in the lively town of Golthanda in Hyderabad, Banothu Santhosh grew up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Telangana. Hailing from a hardworking farming family, with his father, Banothu Rama, and mother, Banothu Bharathi, leading by example, he learned the importance of resilience and dedication early on. Sharing his childhood with his younger brother, Banothu Satish, they spent their days immersed in the beauty of nature, creating fond memories together. At just 15, Santhosh stumbled upon his love for kabaddi, thanks to the encouragement from his father and cousin brothers. Under the watchful eye of his childhood coach, Nagaraju, he sharpened his skills at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. An all-rounder by nature, Santhosh excels as both a raider and a defender. His favorite move, the diving hand touch, combined with his solid defensive game featuring chain tackles, sets him apart on the mat. His journey has seen him compete in significant tournaments like the Yuva Kabaddi Series and Khelo India, where he reached the quarter-finals in 2019. Inspired by his idol, Rohit Kumar, Santhosh dreams of joining the Pro Kabaddi League, and with unwavering determination, he is ready to make his mark in this exciting sport.
