Sakthivel R

Sakthivel R, born on March 13, 2001, in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, currently resides in the same city. His father, Ramu, and mother, Chitra, both work in a Textile Factory, primarily in packaging roles. Sakthivel has two elder sisters, Karthika and Kavipriya, neither of whom shares his passion for Kabaddi. At the age of 15, Sakthivel embarked on his Kabaddi journey, assuming the position of Right Cover Defender, where he excels in executing the Thigh Hold technique. Under the guidance of Coach Vinod Kumar, who currently leads the Jayachitra Club in this YKS Edition, Sakthivel refines his skills at Dolphin Club and Jayachitra Club. His admiration for Kabaddi player Maninder Singh stems from Maninder's motivational impact during Season 9 when he played for Bengal Warriors. Sakthivel's achievements include being selected in the Bengal Warriors Season 9 and participating in various tournaments such as the YKS Winter Edition 2022 with Palani Tuskers and the Khelo India Games in 2023 in Assam, where he won Silver. Pursuing an MBA in IEV Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Development, Sakthivel harbors aspirations of returning to the Pro Kabaddi League and securing a sports government job.
