Rahul Kumar Gope, born on August 1, 2004, in the vibrant town of Baghmara, Jharkhand, has always had an adventurous spirit. Coming from a humble background, his father, Mimay Gope, works as a driver, while his mother, Chari Devi, is a dedicated housewife. Rahul shares a close bond with his elder brother, Sahadev, who has been supportive of his aspirations, even though he doesn’t play kabaddi. Rahul’s journey in kabaddi began at the young age of 14, when he stumbled upon the sport at school, thanks to his coach, Parbhat Sir. He quickly fell in love with the game, practicing hard at the Baghmara Ground. Specializing as a Left Raider, Rahul has honed his skills, particularly his hand touch and bonus techniques, which have become his signature moves on the mat. Inspired by his idol, Pardeep Narwal, Rahul dreams of replicating his record-breaking feats. His passion for kabaddi led him to participate in various competitions, including the Junior National Championship in 2022 and training at the Beach Kabaddi India camp. As an undergraduate student in his third year of a Bachelor of Arts degree, he balances his studies with his sports ambitions. Looking ahead, Rahul aims to represent India in international competitions and make his mark in the Pro Kabaddi League.
