In the grand tapestry of the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024, Jyoti, born on April 11, 1997, in Jakhed, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, emerges as a formidable player for the Himalayan Tahrs. Raised in a family where sports and business coexist, with her father, Sri Suresh Kumar, engaged in business, and her mother, Anita, a homemaker, Jyoti's journey into kabaddi commenced at the age of 11. Inspired by her elder sisters, Archana and Kavita, who were avid kabaddi players, Jyoti found her calling as a Right Corner Defender. Known for her prowess in executing the Double Thigh Hold, Hand Touch, and Bonus moves, Jyoti's coaching trajectory includes guidance from Pankaj Kumar, Satvir Kaur (her current coach), and her first coaches Meher Singh Verma, Rajesh, Mohanlal, Monika, and Sandeep during her SAI training. Her favorite players, Ajay Thakur and Vijay Malik of PKL's UP Yoddha, reflect her admiration for the hand-touch finesse and aggressive playing style, respectively. Jyoti's kabaddi prowess spans representations at the school, college, district, state, and national levels, culminating in a remarkable presence at the Asian Games 2023 in China. Beyond the kabaddi arena, Jyoti's love for volleyball shines through, where she earned state recognition and national selection. Balancing her athletic pursuits with academics, Jyoti is pursuing a Master's degree in Sociology after completing her BA. Her career highlights include stellar performances at the All India University tournaments, where she earned accolades such as the Best All-Rounder and left an indelible mark as a skilled player in both offense and defense.
