Punita

Punita, born on March 5, 2001, in Narela, Delhi, currently resides in SS Academy, Chawla, Delhi, NCR. She hails from a family in Delhi NCR (Union Territory), where her father, Om Prakash, is engaged in a private job, and her mother, Durga Devi, is a homemaker. Punita has three siblings, including one elder brother (Ankit), two elder sisters (Pooja and Sangeeta), and one younger brother (Aman). Notably, Aman, her younger brother, actively participates in kabaddi at the national level, showcasing their family's connection with the sport. Punita discovered her passion for kabaddi at the age of 17, and her interest continued to grow as she started playing. Her original playing position is at the Left Corner Defender position, where she excels in executing the Ankle Hold, demonstrating her strong defensive skills. Under the guidance of her coach, Sangeeta Dalal, Punita refines her techniques at SS Academy. Admiring the technique of players like Pushpa Rana and Surendra Nada, Punita's favorite skill in kabaddi is the Hand Thigh move, highlighting her appreciation for versatile offensive strategies. Outside of kabaddi, Punita's favorite sport is Volleyball. Academically, she has pursued a college graduation degree, completing her education in the Arts stream for the 12th grade. She is currently enrolled in BA and holds a Diploma in Yoga. Punita has represented her school, college, district, and state in various kabaddi competitions. One of her career highlights includes her outstanding performance at the Junior National level. Looking ahead, her future aspiration is to make a career in kabaddi, aiming for continued success in the sport.
