Ankit was born on January 5, 2006, in the heart of Kaithal, Haryana, where he still makes his home. Growing up in a close-knit farming family, with his father, Mahender Singh, working the fields and his mother, Mukesh Devi, looking after the household, Ankit’s childhood was rich with love and encouragement. He shares a special bond with his two sisters, Sonu and Kiran. Kiran, like Ankit, is passionate about kabaddi and serves as an additional source of inspiration for him. It was at the age of 13 when Ankit first stepped onto a kabaddi mat, and from the very start, he fell in love with the sport. Under the guidance of Coach Dilbagh Singh at a local ground in Pais, he developed his skills, specializing as a Right Corner Defender. His ability to block opponents has become his signature move. Ankit looks up to Krishan Dhull, a star player in the same position, and aims to emulate his success. While he has thrived in local competitions, Ankit has big dreams of representing India someday. Currently in his first year of a Bachelor of Arts course, he remains dedicated to kabaddi, hoping to leave a lasting mark in the sport he enjoys so much.
