Mathan Sivakumar

Mathan S is a spirited kabaddi player hailing from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, born on June 15, 2002. Growing up in a close-knit family with his father, S. Sivakumar, who works as a mechanic, and his mother, S. Pachaiyamma, who dedicates her life to managing the household, Mathan was always encouraged to chase his aspirations. His elder brother, S. Sivanesh, paved the way for his passion, falling in love with kabaddi himself, and it wasn't long before Mathan was inspired to follow suit at the young age of 14. Training under Coach Prabhu at the local high school ground, Mathan quickly carved out his identity as a Left Corner Defender. His favorite skill, the ankle hold, has become his signature move, showcasing both his dedication and talent. Though he hasn't yet participated in larger tournaments like Khelo India, he proudly clinched a gold medal with Prabha Sports Club in a local event, a milestone that he treasures. Currently, Mathan is in his first year of undergraduate studies in a Bachelor of Physical Education program. He aspires to join the police department someday, inspired by the thought of serving his community. When not on the kabaddi field, you'll probably find him enjoying a game of cricket or admiring players like Naveen Kumar for their remarkable skills.
