Born on November 25, 2004, Manjeet Kumar hails from the lively town of Shrirampur in Bihar. Growing up in a close-knit family, he learned the values of hard work and resilience from his father, Rajesh Singh, a dedicated driver, and his mother, Vina Devi, who expertly managed their home. Being the youngest of three, with an elder brother Vikas and sister Pushpa to cheer him on, Manjeet always felt supported—even if they weren’t into kabaddi themselves. Manjeet’s journey into the world of kabaddi commenced at 16, a time when he truly discovered his love for the sport. Under the mentorship of coach Upendra Singh at the Dev Kabaddi Academy in Patna, he honed his craft, particularly enjoying the chain tackle technique. Playing as a Left Cover Defender, he looks up to Aslam Inamdar, whose raiding skills deeply inspire him. In 2024, Manjeet participated in the Circle Style Senior Nationals but didn’t clinch a medal. However, that experience only fueled his ambition. With a Bachelor of Arts degree completed, he is eager to make a name for himself in kabaddi. His ultimate dream? To represent India one day on the kabaddi stage.
