Born on May 2, 2004, in the tranquil town of Khadua, Jammu and Kashmir, Mohd Ashraf has always been surrounded by the warmth of his loving family. His father, Mohammad Yakoob, runs a business, while his mother, Shakura, is an inspiring homemaker. Growing up alongside his elder brother, Mohamad Razzaq, younger brother, Atif Khan, and younger sister, Iram, Ashraf developed a passion for sports that became the cornerstone of his childhood. His journey into the world of kabaddi began at the age of 13, during his school days, where he discovered his love for the sport. Standing out as a right corner defender, Ashraf showcases his skills through techniques like the ankle hold and back hold. With the guidance of his coach, Rambir Singh, at Sonipat Academy in Haryana, he has been diligently sharpening his abilities, preparing himself for the competitions that lie ahead. Ashraf has actively participated in local tournaments, and has also competed in the Sub Junior National Championships in 2019 and the Junior Nationals in 2022 and 2023. Despite not reaching the ultimate stages yet, his dream of playing in the Pro Kabaddi League drives him forward. Inspired by his idol, Naveen Kumar, he aims to emulate the speed and finesse that captured his admiration. With hard work and perseverance, Mohd Ashraf is excited to make his mark in kabaddi and fulfill his aspirations.
