Sameer Khan

Sameer Khan was born on March 28, 2005, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and has always had a heartbeat synchronized with kabaddi. Raised in the vibrant town of Badnagar alongside his supportive family, he has a father, Yusuf Khan, who runs an electrical goods shop, and a mother, Asfiya, who keeps the family grounded as a homemaker. With a younger brother, Jishan, and sister, Zoya, the household is full of life, although none share Sameer's fervor for the sport. At the young age of 11, Sameer was inspired by his uncle's passion for kabaddi. This spark ignited a journey fueled by determination and hard work. Under the watchful eye of his childhood coach, Jitendra Yadav, he developed his talents at the Sports Authority of India facility in Gandinagar, Gujarat. As a left-right raider, he has mastered the art of executing bonus points and has a special flair for the toe touch, drawing influence from his role model, Anup Kumar, famously known as "Ferrari." Sameer's journey has taken him through competitive arenas, including the Khelo India Youth Games and Junior National tournaments. Despite some challenges, his unwavering aspiration is to don the national jersey for India one day. Balancing his studies up to the 12th standard with his kabaddi dreams, Sameer is determined to leave a lasting mark in the sport he loves.
