Ajay Sahu, born on September 15, 2006, in Khataegaon, Diwas District, Madhya Pradesh, is making a name for himself in the world of kabaddi. With a supportive family — his father, Rajesh, being a building contractor and his mother, Maya, a caring housewife — Ajay has always had the encouragement to follow his dreams. He has a close-knit family with an elder sister, Raksha, a younger sister, Sakshi, and a younger brother, Adarsh. Ajay’s love for kabaddi sparked at the young age of 14 while he was in school. Winning his first tournament reignited his passion, leading him to pursue the sport professionally. Under the guidance of his coach, Santosh Jatt, he has honed his skills, particularly excelling as a Right Cover Defender with a talent for Chain Tackle and Dash. His dedication paid off when he was part of the Madhya Pradesh team in the 49th Junior National Championship held in Hyderabad, and he celebrated a victory in the junior state championship last year. Currently balancing his sports career with education as a first-year Bachelor of Commerce student, Ajay aspires to represent the Indian team and play in the Pro Kabaddi League. He also dreams of joining the railways through the sports quota. With a goal-oriented mindset and admiration for players like Sunil Kumar, Ajay is on a journey to leave his mark in kabaddi.
