Meet Raju, a promising young talent born on December 25, 2003, in the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh. Growing up in a close-knit family in Belapur, Raju was inspired by his father, Prakash, a hardworking laborer, and his mother, Meenadevi, who dedicated her life to nurturing the family. With one elder brother, Mukesh Thakur, Raju has always felt the support of his family, though they aren’t into kabaddi themselves. Raju’s love for kabaddi sparked at the age of 18 when he first watched local tournaments. Thrilled by the energy of the game, he soon found himself on the mat, training under the guidance of coach Sandeep Sharma at Krishna Academy. Playing as a Left Cover Defender, Raju has honed his skills, particularly excelling at the thigh hold, while also loving the dash move. He draws inspiration from his favorite player, Surendra Singh, known for his impressive solo tackles. One of Raju's career highlights came during a local tournament when, against all odds, his super tackle turned the tide and led his team to victory. With aspirations to play in the Pro Kabaddi League, Raju is also passionate about wrestling and holds a diploma in Electrician from ITI. The journey is just beginning for Raju, and if his determination persists, there are greater heights ahead!
