Amit Badola was born on July 6, 2003, in the scenic town of Paurigarhwal, Uttarakhand. Growing up in a family where sports weren’t the main focus—his father, Shri Harish Mohan Badola, serves as a Sub Inspector in the Uttarakhand Police, while his mother, Godambari Devi, is a dedicated homemaker—Amit’s path to athletics was a bit unconventional. He has an elder brother, Ankit, who plays cricket, and an elder sister, Preeti, showing that the family had their share of sporting interests. Amit's journey into kabaddi began at the tender age of 12. He watched the Pro Kabaddi League spark interest in his village, encouraging him to switch from playing hockey and football to mastering kabaddi. With his determination, he honed his skills, particularly his favorite techniques—the dubki and jump—under the guidance of his coaches at Gurukangri University in Haridwar. Incredibly, Amit has made strides in his career by getting selected for the Yuva Kabaddi series, a significant achievement given that kabaddi isn’t as popular in his area as football or cricket. As he pursues his undergraduate course in Physical Education and Sports Science, his ultimate dream is to don the Indian kabaddi jersey. With the same passion as his favorite player, Pardeep Narwal, Amit is well on his way to making his mark in the sport.
