Purushothaman Palanivelu

Purushothaman Palanivelu is a spirited kabaddi player, born on October 24, 2003, in the vibrant town of Thanjavoor, Tamil Nadu. Today, he calls Thiruvarur home, but his heart holds a special place for his hometown. Growing up in a family that embodies hard work and dedication, his father Palanivel balances a life as a chef abroad, while his mother Manjula manages their home. Purushothaman, alongside his supportive elder brother Muthamizhselvan, has always been inspired by his family’s work ethic. His journey into the world of kabaddi began at the tender age of seven, sparked by the joyful sight of friends playing in his village. Guided by his coach Soundarajan, Purushothaman sharpened his skills at the Vadoor TVR district club. Renowned for his remarkable running dash, he proudly plays as a Right Corner Defender, taking inspiration from the Pro Kabaddi superstar Aslam Inamdar, particularly admiring his impressive bonus skills. In 2023, Purushothaman showcased his talent at the Yuva Kabaddi Series Summer Edition with the Palani Tuskers and also participated in the Khelo India University tournament in Delhi. Currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science degree, he dreams of working with the Indian Railways while continuing to evolve as an athlete. His journey is just beginning, and with his dedication, he’s poised to make a mark in the world of kabaddi.
